Ruby-red. Ripe dark berries, cherry, candied flowers and a hint of licorice on the deeply perfumed nose. Smooth and open-knit, offering plush bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors that become sweeter as the wine stretches out. On the weighty side, in the style of the vintage, but there's good energy here. Closes broad and supple, with a clinging cherry note and very good, gently tannic persistence.
